Quinten Hermans is a Belgian professional cyclist who is a seasoned rider in both cyclocross and road racing. As a cyclocross rider he's been one of the most prominent figures in the most recent years, twice an under-23 European Champion, and World Cup race winner. He is a World Tour rider for Alpecin-Deceuninck, where he has finished on the podium of Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

Quinten Hermans was born on the 29th of July 1995 in Turnhout, Belgium. His specialization has seen him ride over different disciplines of cycling with great success, with him succeeding in the hilly and punchy terrain on the road. Hermans currently races for Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert, until the end of 2022.
In cyclocross, where Hermans began showing his talent as a cyclist, however having to face Mathieu van der Poel in the junior ranks which has seen him pile on several second places - 2012-2013 for example, he finished in 2nd place in 11 out of 17 races. This has continued within the under-23 ranks with Telenet-Fidea, although in his first 2 he also had the likes of Michael Vanthourenhout, Laurens Sweeck, Toon Aerts and Wout van Aert in the mix. In 2015-2016 he took his first wins at under-23 level including the European Championships in Huijbergen, the Koppenbergcross and the Hoogerheide World Cup, finishing 2nd at the World Cup and Superprestige Cups whilst winning the Bpost Bank Trofee.
2016-2017, his final year as an under-23 rider, saw him win the under-23 Superprestige Cup, and finish 2nd in the World Cup. This year he was European Champion once again and also the Belgian national title in his category, whilst winning 9 races throughout the year. 2017-2018 was his first full Elite season, he very quickly got his first World Cup podium in Iowa City. His first win in the category came at the Swiss EDZ CrossTour Meilen. In 2018-2019 he won the Trek Cup Race and finished on the Top5 of the World Cup, Superprestige and EKZ CrossTour.
In 2019-2020 he took his first Belgian win in Beringen. He's also won the IKO Cyclocross - Essen. He finished 5th at the Superprestige Cup and 6th at the World Cup, with a move into the Tormans XC Team at the start of 2020. In 2020-2021 Hermans raced another full season, in which she's won the Cross Eeklo, riding into 5th place at the World Cup and the X2O Badkamers Trofee. In 2021-2022 he finished 4th at the World Cup and Superprestige, whilst achieving his first World Cup win in Fayetteville, USA, in a muddy race. He's had a consistent season, only once finishing outside of the Top10, and 2nd in the European Championships at the Col du VAM. In 2022-2023 Hermans won the Kermiscross Ardooie.
On the road Hermans also raced for the Telenet Fidea Lions from 2014 to 2019, focusing on CX but having a road calendar throughout the summer with the continental outfit. It was only in 2018 that he broke through, taking a stage win at the Oberösterreichrundahrt and another at the Tour de Wallonie where he finished in second place. In 2019 he rode to the win at Flèche du Sud, winning three consecutive stages en route to conquering the GC. He's also finished 3rd at Dwaars door het Hageland and 7th at the Tour de Wallonie.
In 2020 he joined Circus - Wanty Gobert (later termed Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux). 2020 only saw him complete one race day, but in 2021 he focused on the road calendar on the Intermarché team which was now part of the World Tour. He raced into 20th place at Amstel Gold Race, 14th at Flèche Wallone and made his debut at the Giro d'Italia, completing it and having a 5th place in the 15th stage. He also raced to 6th at the Tour de Wallonie.
In 2022 Hermans popped out of nowhere to cause a major surprise at Liège-Bastogne-Liège. He was far from being a contender and raced under the radar, being dropped in the final ascents. However, as Remco Evenepoel raced to the win, Hermans managed to bridge across to the chasing group, and beat Wout van Aert in a sprint into 2nd place.
Hermans won the queen stage at the Baloise Belgium Tour in the summer where he finished 3rd. He also performed strongly in the hilly stages of the Tour de Pologne and raced to 3rd place at the BEMER Cyclassics, a World Tour race where he was part of the winning attack. He's signed with rival team Alpecin-Deceuninck into 2023 where he will continue his double-sided schedule.
He entered the cyclocross season with a blast, winning the Kermiscross Ardooie. That ended up being the highlight of his season, he took rest in the middle of the season before returning in the christmas block, where he finished all his races inside the Top10 but couldn't snatch another triumph. It was ultimately preparation for the road season. His goal were the Ardennes classics but it didn't work out the same way as the previous spring as he struggled to find his best form. He finished third at the Antwerp Port Epic, later in the season sixth at the Gravel World Championships and also made his debut at the Tour de France.
